Postcards, places, and paper love

HEY FRIEND!

Postcards are tiny stories and souvenirs from the heart.

Blog #2, baby. This one’s all about cities, scissors, and postcard joy…

After immersing myself in Cincinnati's vibrant culture, I found that I had accumulated a treasure trove of memories. It was time to transform these into something tangible.

Now that the second batch of postcards is ready (the first one was digital and sold out in a flash—which, okay, was lucky, but doesn’t count!), I can honestly say that taking a break for a few years was the right move.

While working on the new paper postcards, I quickly understood one thing—fitting all the iconic and beloved places of the city was mission impossible. So I picked just a few faves: Fountain Square, the Reds, the Bengals, those vibrant spring tulips, Fiona the hippo, the Art Museum, and, of course, the local legend—Findlay Market.

The process of cutting the characters out of paper was an absolute joy. The color palette came together almost instantly, and even though it ended up brighter than I usually go for (I typically stick to fewer colors), I’m so glad I let it be bold. It turned out pretty darn cool if I do say so myself ✨
